City Winery Timeline

Starting in 2008, City Winery has been providing communities a place to gather and share a mutual love for music, wine, and food. Conceptualized by CEO and founder Michael Dorf, City Winery began in New York City and has since expanded to seven states, nine cities, and continues across the United States and beyond.

2009

City Winery NYC opens

City Winery New York City at Chelsea Pier 57 sits along the Hudson River with serene views and is in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District close to Chelsea Market, Little Island, The High Line, The Whitney, and all the shopping and art galleries in Chelsea and the West Village.

2012

City Winery Chicago opens

City Winery Chicago is located in the heart of the West Loop close to the bustling boutiques in West Town and Wicker Park, near the lush greenery of the Garfield Park Conservatory and Humboldt Park, and within sight of the skyscraper skyline of the Loop.

2014

City Winery Nashville Opens

City Winery Nashville is in the heart of bustling SoBro, nestled among sites like the Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash Museum, and Honky Tonk Highway; close to trendy areas like the District and the Gulch; and near art and architecture destinations like the Parthenon and Nashville murals, museums, and galleries.

2015

City Winery Riverwalk Opens

City Winery Riverwalk is located on the Chicago Riverwalk nestled between Dearborn Street and State Street.

2016

City Winery Atlanta Opens

City Winery Atlanta is located in the Ponce City Market in the heart of the historic Old Fourth Ward close to the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park and Ebenezer Baptist Church, near the lush greenery of Piedmont Park and the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and not far from downtown attractions like Centennial Olympic Park and World of Coca Cola.

2017

City Vineyard Pier 26 Opens

City Vineyard at Pier 26 in Tribeca is in the heart of lower Manhattan close to all the commerce of the Financial District, the culture of Little Italy and Chinatown, and the coolness of SoHo and the Lower East Side.

2019

City Winery Boston Opens

City Winery Boston sits on the edge of the modern West End, nestled among the sites along the Freedom Trail and landmarks like Bunker Hill, near art-filled and important institutions like the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art and the Museum of African American History, and across the Charles River from historic areas like Charlestown and Cambridge.

2020

City Winery Philadelphia Opens

City Winery Philadelphia is located in the bustling Fashion District in the heart of downtown Philadelphia

City Winery Hudson Valley Opens

City Winery Hudson Valley is on the outskirts of the small village of Montgomery, NY, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Wallkill River with the Shawangunk Mountains in the distance, and near numerous art and architecture attractions like the Storm King Art Center, Dia Beacon, and Bannerman Castle.

2021

City Winery NYC Opens New Flagship Location

City Winery New York City relocates to Chelsea Pier 57 along the Hudson River with serene views and is in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District close to Chelsea Market, Little Island, The High Line, The Whitney, and all the shopping and art galleries in Chelsea and the West Village.

City Winery Endures The Pandemic

2020 was a huge hit to the music, food and beverage industries. All City Winery locations closed their doors until safely reopening in 2021.

2023

City Winery St. Louis is located in Midtown’s reclaimed culture and business hub, The City Foundry.

City Winery Pittsburgh Opens

City Winery Pittsburgh has joined the central culture and business hub, The Terminal, in the heart of the bustling Strip District.

El Bar Opens in Pier 57 at Hudson River Park
