ABOUT THE ARTIST: Joan Chiverton is a New York City-based illustrator, painter, and educator, whose work has been widely exhibited and appeared in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
Ms. Chiverton is renowned for her live sketches of performing artists on stage. She has regularly collaborated with the City Winery since 2016, and has uniquely captured the electric, creative energy of the work on stage, and behind the-the-scenes.
The Exhibition consists of illustrations made during live performances at City Winery on Varick street (which closed in 2018) and Pier 57, and City Winery's benefit concerts at other iconic venues in New York such at Carnegie Hall and Town Hall. Many of these iconic prints are the centerpiece décor in the green rooms in all of the City Wineries across the country for the artists to enjoy.
This is the first time that City Winery is featuring in one place all these beautiful and timeless pieces that have captured much of the magic that graces the Winery’s stages on a nightly basis.
