Reserve Chardonnay Poseidon Vineyard 2022

Intensely citrus on the nose, this wine’s inviting notes of lemon bar and vanilla custard simply pour out of the glass.  On the palate, the wine showcases a bright, mouth-watering acidity and clean, confectionary flavors.  It ends with a long, vanilla-lemon finish.

Planted in 1974, in mixed gravel and clay soils, the Poseidon Vineyard lays at the confluence of Carneros Creek and the Napa River and is the southernmost vineyard in Napa Carneros.  Los Carneros, known for its cool climate and small diurnal swings, was the first AVA to be designated solely by climate and not geography.

The grapes for this wine are hand-picked and 100% whole cluster pressed on site at the vineyard, then cold-settled in a stainless steel tank, then transferred into French Oak barrels to undergo alcoholic fermentation.  No malo-lactic fermentation.  10 months on lees, racked twice.

Dangerously food friendly, this wine begs to be paired with any traditional Amalfi Coast dishes - pasta al limone, ‘Ndunderi, risotto, or even burrata over grilled toast.   If you have more of a sweet tooth, try this with baked brie and honey over apple slices.
