A serious take on sweet wine, the Midsummer Sweet Red is complex and flavorful. Think ‘adult Hawaiian punch.’ Made from a global blend and fermented on skins at cool temperatures to preserve fruit and softness, it’s crafted for freshness and easy drinking. Aromas of blackberry, geranium, and allspice lead into a juicy palate of pomegranate, plum, and baking spice. Smooth and lightly chilled, it finishes with a burst of ripe fruit and mellow sweetness.

Wine Profile - Midsummer Sweet Red

Playing by its own rules, this fruit-driven red wine is best served well chilled.  This wine has a unique nose full of allspice, geranium, blackberries, and Crunchberries.  In the mouth, the wine follows up with notes of pomegranate, black plum, fennel, anise and Wild Berry Pop-Tarts.  The medium body is soft and mellow with a big, fruity pop of sweetness.  The finish is all about ripe fruit and baking spice.

About The Vineyard - Midsummer Sweet Red

This wine is a global blend, with Grenache from Spain and Rhone varieties from California.

About The Winemaking - Midsummer Sweet Red

Fermented on skins for color and kept cool to preserve fruit aromas.  Minimal pumpovers to maintain soft mouthfeel.  This wine is designed to be fresh and fruity, with enough sweetness to make it crazy drinkable.

Recommended Pairings - Midsummer Sweet red

Pair this wine with fresh fruit - sliced peaches, strawberries and apricots - and a plate of mixed cheeses - anything from brie to aged pecorino.  It would also go well with duck paté and spicy mustard or with a chocolate ganache if you have a bit of a sweet tooth.
