About:

Gabrielle Serene "Elle" Varner (born February 12, 1989) is an American Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Raised in Los Angeles, Varner spent most of her childhood in recording studios having grown up in a musical family. At age 13 Varner began a writing love affair with the guitar and the rest is history. She studied at New York University's Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music.

Her relatable struggles with body image, relationships, and every day life situations are some of the themes reflected in Varner's music that has created a very cult like following for the Hip Hop/Soul singer. She came on the scene in 2011 with a mixtape entitled "Conversational Lush" that received 4 stars in Rolling Stone and much critical acclaim.

In August 2011, Varner, debuted onto the charts in her early twenties with "Only Wanna Give It to You," featuring J. Cole. The single reached number 20 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart.

After moving to the RCA roster that same year, Varner she released the lyrically and sonically distinctive "Refill" which went top 10 on the Billboard Chart in March 2012. Prior to her album release, Varner released a free mixtape titled "Conversational Lush" (its title taken from "Refill").

Varner's debut album titled Perfectly Imperfect was released August 2012. Perfectly Imperfect debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart and #2 on Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Chart.

In 2013 Elle was nominated for a Grammy for Best RnB Song "Refill," Best New Artist at the Bet Awards and won Best New Artist from the NAACP and Soul Train Awards. Following her breakout debut, Varner continued with an edgier and more vulnerable sound lyrically and musically.

One of the standout tracks from her 4 Letter Word series "Fuck It All" landed on the hit series Power and caused a slew of new fans. Elle is currently managed by KWL Management and is working on her second album as anticipation continues to grow. Thus far she has worked with the likes of Da Internz, Pop & Oak, DJ Camper, Nineteen85, and many more.
