Mike Rocket: Alternative/Rock and Roll
Mike Rocket returns to The Loft for his 3rd appearance in the past several months. Recently, Rocket's cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Give The Girl A Kiss" has been played several times on E Street Radio.
Along with Rocket's music, the band will include some classic covers during this performance.
Credited as "the hardest working man" by some, Rocket is different from many artists in his relentless, fearless, self promoting, and outside the box approaches. Rocket often sets up and performs in places like Times Square, in concert parking lots, at network television shows like The TODAY Show, and by the entrances of large festivals in order to expose his music to the masses. To date he has been seen/heard on national television as well as on major New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia radio stations, including over 30 visits to The TODAY Show.
After four years of setting up outside, Mike Rocket became an official act at Firefly Music Festival 2016 along with some of music's biggest acts. Other well-known festivals he has officially played at include SXSW, CMJ, and Light of Day. His most recognizable song is "Gotta Get To The Jersey Shore" which he performed live to kick off the Shannon in the Morning WCBS-FM Summer Blastoff 2016 to open for Bret Michaels.
ElectroPop Solo Artist
Crystal Joilena is a 22 year old American/Australian Indie/Alternative solo artist based in New York City.
Her influences include Sarah Brightman, Shirley Manson, Amy Lee, Kerli, Depeche Mode, Duffy, and Maroon 5.
Victor V. Gurbo & Co.
"Roots revivalist Victor V. Gurbo and his four-piece backing band create original folk ballads infused with an Americana spirit...voted the Brooklyn Borough Champion at WNYC & WQXR's Battle of the Boroughs, Gurbo & Co. pay homage to the canon of American song and poetry with a raw, bluesy, foot-stomping sound that’s both classic and contemporary."
- Brooklyn Academy of Music
Eliza and the Organix is a funky rock band based in Brooklyn centered around the songwriting of vocalist and guitarist Eliza Waldman. E&O deals in deep grooves, quirky humor, and high octane playing, drawing from a broad sonic canvas that remains focused in storytelling and soulful sound.
Eliza and the Organix is a unique project that has been described as "funk punk" or "jazz rock". The band's albums include The Organix Experience (2012), Orange Moon Soon (2015), and Present Future Dreams: Part I (2017). The single and music video teaser "Road Home" was released in January 2019 in anticipation of Present Future Dreams: Part II, coming out later this year.
Eliza and the Organix has appeared on college radio around the country from Houston to Chicago to the Northeast, and podcasts like Women of Substance (10,000 monthly listeners), Homoground (a "queer-positive take on MTV) and Rubyfruit Radio (Atlanta, GA). Write-ups of the band have appeared in sources like Shutter 16 Magazine, Pure Grain Audio, Lucid Culture (NYC Music Daily) and Madness To Creation, among others.
