Bandits on the Run is Brooklyn's very own criminal whimsy ring, composed of cellist/badass Bonanza Jellyfish, guitarist/fool Roy Dodger, and player-of-toys/clairvoyant Clarissa. Veterans of the NYC busking scene, the three specialize in coloring any old place with a distinctive atmosphere, easily connecting with an audience while trading off frontman roles, with each bandit adding their unique voice and songwriting prowess to the pot for a heady, mood-buoying brew. A tight unit, they have traveled the world with their tunes, playing to crowds everywhere from grungy bars in LA to living rooms in London to old town squares in France. Their songwriting and creative videos have even earned them accolades from the likes of the Coffee Music Project and NPR Music. Listen and you will be whisked away to find something old, something new, and a heart warmed between the two.
Jenni Rudolph is a songwriter, musician, vocal producer, and force of creative chaos born and raised in Southern California. With honest lyricism inspired by modern R&B (Janelle Monae, H.E.R.) and groovy melodies inspired by retro funk (Chaka Khan, Teena Marie), her vision is to revolutionize female empowerment music, to better represent the diversity, resilience, and intellect of women.
As a recipient of the Pat Pattison Songwriting Award and three Songs for Social Change awards, Jenni draws from her biracial identity (half Chinese, half Russian-Jewish), and other dualities to craft emotionally compelling yet danceable music. She is the youngest alumnus of the 2018 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project, a soon-to-be graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Songwriting and Music Production, and a composer for the Canales Project’s 2019 Hear Her Song initiative. Recently, Jenni partnered with nonprofit International Sanctuary and their brand, Purpose Jewelry, to release her song “H.E.A.L.”, honoring survivors of human trafficking.
Jenni’s new studio album Reignite portrays the journey of rediscovering passion and courage, and features collaborations with four female artists. Ultimately, Jenni strives to create authentically and use her music as a catalyst for empowerment.
