On June 1st the Atlantic hurricane season officially begins, and we will be reminded of the devastation that fell on Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. In early 2018, a few months after the storm, City Winery staff went down to support the island - click here to watch the video from our trip. Now, instead of being reactive, City Winery has decided to be proactive in support of Puerto Rico in time for the start of the hurricane season. We will be raising money for a great non-profit organization called Solar Responders. Solar Responders’ mission is to power first responder stations with reliable solar power so firefighters and police officers can continue to save lives during a storm. They have proven to be effective, installing solar power on 3 fire stations serving vulnerable communities. Our goal of $140,000 is to raise vital capital to outfit 2 fire stations in areas that took almost one year to restore power to after Hurricane Maria hit. This is a green, practical solution, it is important and will save lives. Help us in supporting this life-savings mission - Donate today.
