Wine Profile

Aromas of this oaky Chardonnay gently lift from the glass, followed by bright notes of lemon candies, evoking an image of a cozy Sunday afternoon spent baking in the kitchen. On the palate, the wine follows through with a broad, mellow mouthfeel featuring hints of cake batter and lemon custard. A clean citrus finish leaves you wanting more.

About the Vineyard

Located north of the San Pablo Bay and straddling both Sonoma and Napa, Carneros is a region widely known for its sparkling wine production. The Tula Vista vineyard features a unique combination of heavy clay soils, both West and Northern exposure, and slopes facing the windy Petaluma Gap, which funnels a consistent breeze onto the vines.

Wine Making Process

The grapes for this wine were pressed onsite at the vineyard, then the juice was barrel-fermented at cool temperatures in a mix of gently-used French and American oak, and aged in the same barrels for 12 months before transferring to stainless steel to allow the wine a brief rest prior to bottling.

Recommended Pairings

Perfectly enjoyable on its own, fish dishes or a light olive oil-based pasta with fresh vegetables would pair well with with this wine. Those with more of a sweet tooth may look toward light, citrusy desserts, such as lemon bars.

How City Winery Makes Wine

Step 1
Grapes
We contract carefully selected vineyards to supply grapes. Prior to harvest we choose our preferred varietals and make shipping arrangements.
Step 2
Crush and Maceration
Grapes are inspected upon arrival and if approved, de stemmed, sorted, and finally crushed.
Step 3
Aging
After fermentation the wine is barreled into the cellar to begin aging per the winemakers design. Typical aging is 6-10 months but options exist for aging up to 24 months.
Step 4
Blending
After the wine has aged to its optimal condition, our winemakers further refine the wine by blending it with other wines if desired.
Step 6
Labeling
The finished wine is hand bottled, corked, and labeled.
Step 6
The Result
A carefully crafted wine made with grapes from the best vineyards and produced locally. Indulge.
