Kamasi Washington
Kamasi Washington is a Los Angeles-born saxophonist, composer, and bandleader whose albums The Epic, Heaven and Earth, and Fearless Movement have made him one of modern jazz's defining voices. A founding member of the West Coast Get Down, he also co-founded the jazz/neo-soul supergroup Dinner Party with Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, and 9th Wonder, and scored Michelle Obama's documentary Becoming, earning Emmy and Grammy nominations. He has also been a frequent collaborator of Kendrick Lamar, contributing to albums like To Pimp a Butterfly.
Ami Taf Ra
Ami Taf Ra is a Moroccan-born, LA-based singer-songwriter (real name Fatima Zohra Washington) whose music fuses Arabic vocal traditions, Moroccan gnawa, gospel, and spiritual jazz into a sound rooted in cultural duality and ancestral memory. She grew up between Morocco and Amsterdam, drawing on everything from hip-hop to rock alongside SWANA icons like Fairuz and Umm Kulthum, and it was through Fairuz's son Ziad Rahbani that she first came to jazz. She joined the Brainfeeder label as one of its newest signed artists, celebrated for blending Arabic musical traditions like Moroccan gnawa with jazz and gospel.
