Boasting some of the coolest temperatures in California, Santa Barbara County is located between two mountain ranges (Elevations range from 200 to 3400 feet) along the Central Coast. Santa Barbara has a very long growing season due to their large diurnal swings.

All of our Au Naturel wines are made with an eye toward using minimal intervention and the most natural winemaking techniques possible. For this Pinot Noir, we utilize an extended cold soak for color extraction followed by a fermentation with limited temperature control and a mix of pump-overs and punch downs by hand. After 12 days, we pressed the grapes in a basket press, and aged the press wine and free run separately in barrels for 10 months, recombining prior to bottling without fining or filtration.
The aroma of this wine matches its color, providing a purple cascade of plums, violets, and dried berries. Threads of toffee and caramel are woven into this complex melange of aromas. In the mouth, the wine is truly opulent, tucking in your tongue with a weighted blanket of broad, rich mouthfeel. After a bold first impression, the wine shows itself out with a clean, weighty finish
