Vineyard:

100% from Scopus Vineyard, Sonoma Valley.
Nestled high in the Sonoma Mountain AVA, overlooking the historic Valley of the Moon, sits Scopus Vineyard: just 12 acres planted entirely with Chardonnay. Rocky volcanic soils mixed with clay encourage deep root development and ensure low yields of concentrated yet balanced fruit. Favored by a northeastern exposure protecting the vines from the warm afternoon sun, Scopus Chardonnays are distinguished by vivacious acidity and mineral notes.

Winemaking Info:

Hand-picked fruit, whole cluster pressed in California. Juice shipped to NYC where it underwent cold fermentation, 40% in oak barrels and 60% in a stainless steel tank. A long 20-day fermentation then extended aging on gross lees. The barrel portion had lees stirred fortnightly for 2 months. Racked to blend then filtered.
