Three small batch City Winery wines, chosen to carry a dinner party from the first pour to the last. Open with the 2023 Montgomery Mills Dry Riesling from Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes, with lemon lime, honeysuckle, and bright acidity that stands up to crudo, sushi, or a spicy first course. Move to the 2023 KNIT Syrah from Castelero Vineyard in Lake County, where black cherry, cocoa, and black truffle meet rosemary lamb chops or wild mushroom risotto. Close with the 2021 Cabernet Franc Reserve from Alder Springs Vineyard in Mendocino. Only 89 cases were made, aged 25 months in French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered, for braised short ribs or a pear, walnut, and blue cheese course. It drinks well tonight and will cellar for five to seven years, so the trio also works as a holiday wine gift. $101 for all three, and it ships for $9 with our holiday rate of $3 per bottle on orders over $100.

Alder Springs Vineyard Reserve Cabernet Franc Cuvée 2021

Our Reserve Cabernet Franc is a wine of elegance and depth, balancing richness with silky finesse. The nose entices with luscious black cherry, ripe blackberry, and delicate spice from well-integrated oak. On the palate, layers of dark plum, black cherry, and a whisper of sweet oak unfold, leading to a long, smooth finish. Approachable now yet structured for aging, this Cabernet Franc is a wine to enjoy today or to cellar for a special occasion.

Montgomery Mills Riesling Wine Profile

The wine practically leaps out of the glass with big aromas of honey, grilled peaches, tropical flowers and delicate hints of spice.  In the mouth, the wine’s balanced acidity gives way to incredible lemon-lime citrus and honey notes with a slight viscosity.  The wine finishes with a hint of sweetness and a lingering lemon meringue.

Knit Syrah Wine Profile

This is a dynamic and evolving wine, offering a symphony of complex flavors. On the nose, it reveals smoky blackberry jam, black cherry, cassis, and layers of cocoa, black licorice, and pepper. The palate is fresh and vibrant, underscored by earthy notes of black truffle and crushed rock. Its hallmark balance and minerality shine through, with the rich fruit seamlessly integrated with subtle oak. This depth and harmony preserve the wine's varietal character, making it a standout expression of Syrah.

We carefully select vineyards around the world to supply grapes for our wines. Prior to harvest, we choose our preferred varietals with terroir, weather, and farming practices in mind. The grapes are picked at their peak, and then shipped to each of our local wineries for production.
