Wine Profile - 2024 Rosé

The first thing to notice about this wine is it’s classic pale rose-salmon color.  The nose is nuanced, with notes of wild strawberries, honeysuckle and rose petal.  In the mouth, the wine refreshes the palate with each sip, giving hints of Jolly Rancher and gummy bears.  Moderately complex, but not challenging, this rosé is like having tea in a summer garden in the early morning.  This Rose is elegant enough to bring to the party, but modest and lovely for sipping solo.

About The Vineyard - 2024 Rosé

This Rosé resulted from a partnership between CW and Maison Mei vineyard situated in the Luberon region in the South of France. Luberon Terroir is a few miles away from the more well-known Côtes de Provence area.  The Soils are well-drained, mix of  limestone and sand , Mature vines manage with sustainable mindset. This vineyard started its transition toward organic production in 2022 and will be certified organic in 2025. This wine is the result of a custom blend by City Winery's wine team

About The Winemaking - 2024 Rosé

The grapes were harvested early in the morning, between September 10 and 20, in order to benefit from the coolness of the night.  After a light crushing, the grapes are pressed slowly to obtain a slightly colored juice (from the skin)  and to extract more flavors and aromas . The cloudy juice is then cold-settled for 36 hours to get cleared . The alcoholic fermentation is carried out at low temperature in order to preserve and optimize all the delicate aromas of the wine. The wine is aged on their lees for 4 months before being blended and shipped to the USA.

Recommended Pairings - 2024 Rosé

Match this with fresh goat cheese or a watermelon, mint and feta salad.  It would do well with margherita pizza, sushi crab rolls, crunchy lettuce wraps with a salty peanut sauce.  You could also pair it with Netflix reruns and a big bag of gummy bears if you don’t want to leave the house.
