This ticket includes the access to a live streaming of the interactive wine tasting of City Winery wines and a live Q&A session with Tahiirah Habibi of Hue Society.

City Winery is proud to partner with the Hue Society to celebrate Black History Month with a very special interactive wine tasting and a course in wine appreciation and basic wine knowledge for anyone and everyone who's ever felt alienated by wine.  

Hue Society founder and esteemed sommelier Tahiirah Habibi will lead a wine tasting, and a conversation on the changing culture of the wine industry, answer your questions about getting involved with the industry, and her journey to the cover of Wine Enthusiast.  Tahiirah will discuss the Hue Society's work opening the doors to a wider, more diverse audience while providing visibility and support that’s needed to make the larger wine world more inclusive, especially for those who don't feel seen, heard, or represented in the industry.  With help from our in-house wine expert, Tahiirah will answer your questions during a live Q&A session via Zoom and lead a tasting of some of her favorite City Winery wines.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Hue Society to help continue their work leveling the playing field of wine for all who want to join in, no matter who they are or how they approach their wine.

About Tahiirah Habibi, Founder & Sommelier, The Hue Society:

Growing up in North Philadelphia, Tahiirah Habibi always had a passion for uplifting the community. Her experiences with wine began at college gathering and functions once she was at Penn State University. Upon graduating, she worked at a restaurant during the day and took wine classes at night to begin her journey of becoming a sommelier and pioneer.  

In 2012 Tahiirah opened St.Regis, Bal Harbour. She later moved on to leadership positions at other prestigious restaurants including Micheal’s Genuine. Frustrated with the lack of diversity in the industry she believed her skills could bridge the intersection of wine and culture.  

In 2017, she launched Hue Society as a safe space for the community to learn, commune and find resources in one place. Tahiirah is the first Black woman to grace the cover of Wine Enthusiasts Magazine as well as being named on the prestigious 40 under 40 list. She has also been featured in Ocean Drive as one of the top 5 female sommeliers, VinePair, Vogue, Upscale Magazine, Wine & Spirits, Wine Spectator and Imbibe Magazine to name a few. Her work is rooted in economic inclusion and resource access to the community for both consumers and business owners.

With the launch of the industry changing C.O.R initiative, Tahiirah continues her passion to reimagine the wine industry and to create an indelible impact through our experiences, assimilation not required.
