About:

Join us for a dinner featuring the exceptional sparkling wine of New Zealand’s No. 1 Family Winery. Four courses designed by Chef Enx and 5 sparkling wines that show the rise of New Zealand’s sparkling wine story. Virginie Le Brun will be talking about her family’s trail blazing winery and what the future holds for New Zealand sparkling wines.

Virginie is the daughter of the pioneering vintners, Daniel & Adele Le Brun of No1 Family Estate, New Zealand’s only specialist Methode Traditionelle winery. Growing grapes and winemaking has been part of the family for over 300 years and a huge part of her life. She had her first taste of champagne from a small spoon at her christening, as is the tradition in her Father’s native Champagne, France. According to her father she was three years old when she first helped pick grapes at vintage. Her mother recalls that she was 4 years old when she first helped out at wine festival and she began working in the winery for the first time when she was 10.

As a young adult, Virginie made a career in front of the camera as a TV host, actor & stuntwoman. However a long lingering desire to help carry her family's story into the future lead her back into the wine industry in 2013. Living in London at the time she became No1 Family Estate’s European Brand Manager. She then returned to her roots in New Zealand in late 2017 where she became the Marketing Manager for No1 Family Estate. Alongside her brother Remy, they continue the families’ passion and legacy for producing world class Methode Traditionelle Wines.
