Ethan Lindquist Winemaker & Beverage Director
Ethan grew up in the heart of Santa Barbara wine country in California. His father Bob Lindquist was one of the pioneers of winemaking in Santa Barbara County, and the first on the Central Coast to plant and make Rhone Varieties. He founded Qupe in 1982 when Ethan was 10 years old. As a young kid Ethan would help his father at the winery with various things like topping barrels, cleaning tanks, and working the bottling line. Ethan later in life realized his father was slowly teaching him the wine business from every angle. Even tagging along with his father on business trips to sell wine, he was learning that side of the business at an early age.
Ethan always had an interest in wine and tasting wine, so it made sense as an adult to go to school in Sonoma for enology and viticulture. As well as taking wine marketing and business classes. IN 2001 he started an apprenticeship with Greg Lafolette, the founder of Tandem Winery and Lafolette Wine Company, and it all started there. Ethan made his first wines while working in the cellar learning from Greg. In 2001 he made 100 cases of Syrah and 100 cases of Sangiovese and bottled them under his own Ethan Wines label. The brand grew from there and moved from Sonoma back to the Central Coast of California and continued to focus on small lots of Rhone Varieties and Sangiovese.
In 2007 Ethan also started working for the family business and with his sister opened up the first Qupe tasting room, where the Ethan wines were also sold. Quickly Ethan took to the road and started helping his father with National Sales. So at this point doing almost every job in the wine business from making wine, to selling and working with distributors, pouring wine at events and trade tastings, to managing the tasting room and selling retail. IN 2018 Bob Lindquist sold Qupe Winery and the family business ended at that point. Ethan at this time decided to take on a bucket list item, which was making wine in the Northern Rhone Valley of France. He went to work for Domaine Pierre Gaillard making Condrieu, Cote Rotie, Cornas, Saint Joseph, and other wines he has styled his own winemaking after for years. Upon returning to the United States he turned everything upside down and made a life-changing move to Philadelphia, not knowing if winemaking would stay in the plan. After moving he saw an add that City Winery was opening in Philadelphia, so Ethan decided to reach out and be proactive to applying. Sure enough within a couple months Ethan found a job at City Winery making wine in the heart of downtown Philadelphia, and the journey continues.

Christianna LaBuz Senior Talent BuyerChristianna LaBuz is way too nerdy to have such a cool job. Three Midwestern winters later, she flipped the script and headed back east to book shows for World Cafe Live followed by Live Nation before joining the City Winery team in 2019. When she’s not at a show, an Eagles game, a disc golf course or hanging with family, she enjoys white water rafting and kayaking with her boyfriend Ryan, adventuring with Emory the cat in their VW Eurovan named Terri and making and trading wine, kombucha and all kinds of bread in their Port Richmond home. Christianna has been a Philadelphia Music Alliance board member since 2013 and believes that it’s nice to be important, but it’s important to be nice
