Join us at City Winery Atlanta for the first in our series Celebrating the Culinary Artist that have shaped with way we dine and our approach to food in America. We begin the series with ‘A Taste of Country Cooking’ by Edna Lewis, in recipes and reminiscences equally delicious, Edna Lewis celebrates the uniquely American country cooking she grew up with many years ago in a small Virginia Piedmont farming community that had been settled by freed slaves, including her Grandfather. The cooking of Edna Lewis has inspired countless Chefs and cooks throughout the country including here in Atlanta where she was the influence for the Iconic (now closed) Watershed Restaurant. Chef Vawanda Richardson will prepare an interpretation of the Fresh Taste of Early Spring, served family style with Wines from African American Producers paired with the Dinner. This will be an evening of storytelling, incredible food, wine and fellowship as we celebrate this American Culinary Artisan.
